What keeps you busy???

So, what keeps you busy??? The answer is easy for me - KIDS! Every parent can relate to this, but teachers understand this at a much deeper level. Not only do we hang out with our own children, but we are responsible for other people's kids! It is a lot of work, but if you hang out with kids you know it is also highly entertaining! It is fun to see them learn, ask questions, interact with their peers, challenge ideas and they say the most interesting things!

On an average day I am interacting with kids for about 16 hours a day. At 6:30 in the morning my own angels wake up (this is actually true for the boys, not so much so for the girl). I drop them off at their school and I am off to support my elementary school kids from 7:30 am to around 4:30 pm. Then it is off to pick-up the Children of the Corn (my affectionate name for my children) and head home or to baseball/basketball practice. Eventually, I get my kids to bed and start grading and emailing the students in my online class, it is A LOT!

So why spend so much time on these things??? Because I love them and I know the time I spend with children (my own and those at my school) is positively impacting their lives. Ok, with my own kids it's like an 85/15 split on positivity!
